Permits: How do I get one?

Gorilla trekking permits are mandatory and limited; book at least 3–6 months ahead in peak seasons through us or Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA).

Year‑round, with drier, easier trails in June–September and December–February; rainy months offer lush scenery and fewer crowds.

 Minimum 15 years for gorilla trekking.

Yellow fever certificate may be required for arrivial at Entebbe International Airport; recommend typhoid, hepatitis A/B, and up‑to‑date routine vaccines. Do not trek if ill; masks will be provided.

Waterproof hiking boots, long sleeves/trousers, gaiters, garden gloves, lightweight rain jacket, insect repellent, and layered clothing.

Trekkers are assigned to gorilla families by fitness/interest at the park gate; group sizes up to 8 per family.

Briefing at 7:00–8:00 am; treks can take 2–6+ hours depending on gorilla location.
