Your 6 Days Luxury Gorilla Trekking and Chimpanzee Safari Rwanda begins with arrival at Kigali International Airport or pickup from your hotel in Kigali. You will meet your professional driver-guide and start the scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda, passing through Rwanda’s rolling hills, clean towns, farmlands and mountain landscapes.
On arrival near Volcanoes National Park, you will check in at One&Only Gorilla’s Nest and spend the rest of the day relaxing at the lodge. This first day is kept comfortable and relaxed, giving you time to enjoy the luxury lodge setting and prepare for the gorilla trekking experience.

After an early breakfast at One&Only Gorilla’s Nest, your guide will transfer you to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for registration and gorilla trekking briefing. You will then enter the forest with ranger guides in search of mountain gorillas. The trek can take a few hours depending on the location of the gorilla family, but the experience is rewarding from the start because of the forest scenery, volcanic slopes and mountain views. Once the gorillas are found, you will spend one unforgettable hour watching them feed, rest, groom and move in their natural habitat.
After the trek, you will return to the starting point and transfer back to One&Only Gorilla’s Nest for lunch, relaxation, dinner and overnight.

After breakfast at One&Only Gorilla’s Nest, you will check out and drive back to Kigali for your domestic flight to Kamembe, the main air access point for Nyungwe Forest National Park. On arrival at Kamembe, you will be welcomed and transferred by road to One&Only Nyungwe House. The rest of the day is for relaxation, enjoying the peaceful tea estate setting and preparing for the chimpanzee trekking experience.

After an early breakfast at One&Only Nyungwe House, your guide will transfer you to the chimpanzee trekking starting point in Nyungwe Forest National Park. After the briefing, you will enter the forest with park guides in search of chimpanzees.
Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe is a lively forest experience because chimpanzees are active, vocal and often move quickly through the trees. Once located, you will spend time observing them as they feed, move, call and interact within the forest. After the trek, you will return to One&Only Nyungwe House for lunch and a relaxed afternoon at the lodge.
