After an early breakfast at One&Only Gorilla’s Nest, your guide will transfer you to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for registration and briefing. The park team will explain the gorilla trekking rules before you enter the forest with experienced guides.
You will trek through the volcanic forest in search of a mountain gorilla family. Once the gorillas are found, you will spend one unforgettable hour watching them feed, rest, groom and move through their natural habitat. After the trek, you will return to One&Only Gorilla’s Nest for lunch, relaxation and overnight.
After breakfast, you will return to Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey trekking. This activity takes place in the bamboo forest, where golden monkeys are often seen feeding, jumping and moving actively through the vegetation.
After the golden monkey experience, you will return to the lodge for refreshment and then begin the cross-border journey from Rwanda to Uganda.
