8 Days Luxury Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Wildlife Safari

After breakfast at Serena Hotel Kigali  you will check out and begin the scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda. The journey takes you through Rwanda’s rolling hills, clean towns, farmlands and beautiful mountain landscapes.
On arrival in the Volcanoes region, you will check in at One&Only Gorilla’s Nest. This luxury lodge offers comfort, privacy and easy access to Volcanoes National Park, making it a perfect base for your gorilla trekking experience. The rest of the day is for relaxation at the lodge as you prepare for the next day’s trek.

After an early breakfast at One&Only Gorilla’s Nest, your guide will transfer you to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for registration and briefing. The park rangers will explain the trekking rules, safety guidelines and what to expect before assigning you to a gorilla family.
You will then enter the forest with experienced ranger guides in search of mountain gorillas. The trek can take a few hours depending on the location of the gorilla family, but the experience is very rewarding. Once the gorillas are found, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them as they feed, rest, groom and move in their natural habitat.
After the gorilla trekking experience, you will return to One&Only Gorilla’s Nest for lunch, relaxation, dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you will return to Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey trekking. This activity takes place mainly in the bamboo forest, where golden monkeys are commonly found feeding, jumping and moving actively through the vegetation.
Golden monkey trekking is usually lighter than gorilla trekking, but it gives you another beautiful primate experience in the Volcanoes region. After the trek, you will return to the lodge for refreshment and lunch before driving back to Kigali.
On arrival in Kigali, you will check in again at The Retreat by Heaven for a luxury overnight stay before continuing to Akagera National Park the following day.

After breakfast at Serena Hotel Kigali  you will check out and transfer for your domestic or charter flight to Akagera National Park. This flight gives the safari a smooth luxury connection between Kigali and Rwanda’s main savannah wildlife destination.
On arrival in the Akagera area, you will be welcomed and transferred to Wilderness Magashi. The lodge is set in a beautiful wilderness area and offers a refined safari atmosphere with excellent access to wildlife viewing. After check-in, you will enjoy lunch and relaxation before an afternoon game drive or sunset safari experience, depending on arrival time.

After breakfast at Wilderness Magashi, you will begin a full day of wildlife viewing in Akagera National Park. The park offers a different side of Rwanda, with open savannah, lakes, wetlands, woodlands and rolling landscapes.
During the game drives, you may look for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, hippos, crocodiles and predators such as lions and leopards. The experience is relaxed and comfortable, with your guide helping you explore the best wildlife areas depending on the movement of animals.
You will return to Wilderness Magashi for lunch, rest and later enjoy another safari activity in the afternoon. The evening is spent at the lodge with dinner and overnight in a peaceful luxury safari setting.

After breakfast, you will continue your luxury wildlife experience in Akagera National Park with a morning game drive. This gives you another opportunity to search for wildlife and enjoy the beautiful savannah scenery.
Later, you will enjoy a Lake Ihema boat safari, one of the best experiences in Akagera. The boat safari gives you a chance to see hippos, crocodiles, water birds and other wildlife along the lakeshore. It also adds a peaceful water-based experience to your Rwanda wildlife safari.
After the boat safari, you will return to Wilderness Magashi for relaxation, dinner and your final overnight in Akagera National Park.

After breakfast at Wilderness Magashi, you will check out and begin your return journey to Kigali. Depending on your final travel arrangements, this transfer may be done by road, with optional charter flight arrangements available for guests who prefer a faster luxury connection.
On arrival in Kigali, you will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight or at your hotel in Kigali. This marks the end of your 8 Days Luxury Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Wildlife Safari.
